Hello and welcome to the Westview Elementary Library Media Center!
The goals of our program include:
- Promoting a love of reading for both learning and pleasure.
-
Assisting students in becoming effective users of ideas and information, which means they can access, process, and communicate information from all types of media.
-
Preparing students to be safe, responsible, and innovative digital citizens.
-
Encouraging lifelong learning and having curiosity in the world around them and promoting critical-thinking skills.
We develop these goals by:
-
Providing a wide variety of print, non-print and electronic resources.
-
Running a student-friendly, inclusive environment.
-
Integrating technology for educational objectives.
-
Teaching lifelong skills such as library location skills (print and electronic), the research process, understanding media messages, literature appreciation, and the responsible use of technology.
