DeCapo Choir
Who: 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students
When: Tuesdays from 8:10 - 9:10 A.M, offered in the spring.
If your child loves to sing, Westview’s DaCapo Choir provides an opportunity for him or her to share their passion for music with others! The District 196 Music Department in partnership with District 196 Community Education is excited to offer this program.
DaCapo means "from the beginning". It is the first choral opportunity for many children. DaCapo is a non-auditioned choir for all interested 3rd, 4th and 5th graders that focuses on vocal technique, music reading and artistic expression in a fun and educational setting.
DaCapo happens in spring each year. We meet on Monday mornings from 8:10 - 9:10 A.M. for seven weeks, and end with a performance. The DaCapo Choir performs a variety of styles of choral octavos in unison, two, and three part harmony. The Choir is directed by Ms. Bush, Westview's Music teacher. Email Ms. Bush for questions.
There is a fee to join DaCapo, but discounted scholarships are available. All are welcome!
This feeder program will allow students the opportunity to audition for the district's Dakota Valley Festival Children's Choir (DVFCC).
